A new promotional video highlighting some of the most iconic of Sligo’s spectacular walking trails has been produced and is now doing the rounds on social media.
The video features six of the most scenic walks anywhere in Ireland, all of which are located just minutes from Sligo Town, and which are very accessible to experienced hill walkers as well as those with more moderate levels of fitness.

The walks featured – The Ben Bulben Forest Walk, the new walk up to Knocknarea from Strandhill, The Sligo Way, The Devil’s Chimney, Union Wood and the Killaspugbrone coastal walk – all demonstrate not only Sligo’s unparalleled beauty, but the variety of the different kinds of walking experiences available. The routes shown are upland, coastal, lakeside, woodland, for example, and this variety is one of the reasons for the significant rise in the growth of walking clubs and communities both from Sligo and those who visit the county.
The promotional video was produced by Sligo-based production company Omedia and features a fully Sligo-based crew. If you see the video doing the rounds on social media in the coming months, give it a ‘like’ and a ‘share’ and let’s spread the word – Sligo Walks are open to all!
