Temporary Closure at Ballygawley Woods

Coillte have notified us of a closure of a section of forest near Ballygawley at Castledargan which is located near The Sligo Way and is popular with local walkers.

The closure will take place near the village of Ballygawley in an area used by walkers as an access route to The Sligo Way after you leave the main R-284 Sligo-Ballygawley road and head towards Lough Lumman.

This section will remain closed to facilitate tree harvesting and stacking, and will take place over a number of weeks starting on Monday 18th January 2020 and continuing for approximately 2 weeks. We will update the public when these works have been completed.

We remind you that due to the latest coronavirus restrictions, the public may only walk up to 5km from their homes. Please refrain from travelling any further, to aid efforts to stem the rise of Covid-19 in our communities. Any change in these restrictions will be notified to us and we will pass on this information to the public.
