Raghly Harbour

The Route
The route starts at the harbour and brings you around quiet roads with stunning views of Rosses Point peninsula and the North Atlantic. The loop will eventually bring you back to your starting point at the harbour.

Don’t Miss!
The unusual seabirds found in the area, including the red-throated diver and the dark-bellied Brent.

Warning to Motorists!
Please do not drive all the way to the harbour area. Instead park before the Raghly Harbour sign on the area between the sea wall and the mound of stones as you enter Raghly peninsula.

Beautiful walk on this sunny January day, majestic views.
(Could I suggest bins enroute, for people who like to be responsible dog owners)

  2. Very good

We enjoyed this walk very much, it is a beautiful coastal walk – we did it in the rain, it must be stunning in the sun! Perhaps the signage could be clearer though

  3. Took this walk today. The circular route (circa 3km) is a combination of on road (attractive coastal/country lanes – circa 1.8km) and off road pathway (circa1.2km). Park at the small harbour and walk anti-clockwise (north) along the coast hugging road. Spectacular views of Sligo Bay and Dartry Mountains including Benbulben. Turn left (west) at first road junction and follow road for short distance along rock sea defences. After circa 1km from start take footpath (fenced) to right (west) and follow walk along top of low raking cliffs. Spectacular coastal views, and coastal cliff arch. Follow path across centre of headland with 360 views of Sligo coast and landscape. Turn right (south) along country lane/road and follow back to harbour (circa 800m). Easy walk with great views. Met no cars today, but have on other days, but usually not a major issue.

  4. I live in Raghly and notified you before that the road loop around Raghly is 1km as opposed your 5 km
