Directions to the trailhead
Take the N17 from Sligo south towards Galway. Tubbercurry is located along this route, 34km from Sligo. When you enter the town, park your car in the town centre, at or near Wolfe Tone Square. Alternatively take the Route 64 bus from Sligo Bus Station to Tubbercurry if you’d prefer to travel by public transport. Visit www.buseireann.ie for timetables and details.

The Route
Start from Wolfe Tone Square. Walk up the street taking the road towards Charlestown. After approximately 10 minutes turn left up onto Lovers Lane. Look out for the wild flowers and the masses of blackberries in the Autumn. Continue up Lovers Lane until you reach a T-Junction, turn left. Reach another T-Junction, turn left along the Mountain road back to Tubbercurry.

Did You Know?
The local name for this walk is Lovers Lane as it’s noted for it’s romantic influence on courting couples! Wolfe Tone Square is named after the 1798 rebellion leader. There is also a street named after General Humbert of the French army who came to assist in the rebellion.

    THIS WAS A N EASY WALK ON THE FLAT COUNTRY ROADS. IT WAS NOT TOO BUSY TRAFFIC WISE
    AND SCENERY WAS EXCELLENT. I WOULD RECOMMEND WEARING RUNNERS.THIS WALK IS NOT TOO HARD
